No sooner have we left Rachid and driver Hassan we are missing them. They have been so nice and have taken care of us continuously, since the very first minute. They have cooked delicious food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and have made us feel so secure. Have talked about religion and culture, and have laughed together. They will attend to any petition if it is in their hands to accomplish it. And It is so nice to see them talk to unknown people as if they were friends and even share some food. Apart from it all, they have mountain biked us on excellent tracks through exciting mountains and beautiful valleys like Bourgemez, Ahansal, and the astonishing gorge from La Catedral to Anergui. We have been marked by this week with them and have felt sad to say “Hasta pronto, queridos amigos. Iin sha’ allah! No os olvidaremos”.

We did the 9-day biking trip in the Tassaout and Atlas mountains in MTB for two people with Rachid and a Driver.
The tour was very well organized with all the stuff/equipment that we could need, a good, practically new rental bike and a spare bike for each of us, spare parts and tools, and food prepared by our guide that was good and plentiful.
Furthermore, Rachid shot many videos with the GoPro camera that he gave us on a USB stick.
I appreciated the more remote places and out-of-the-normal tourist routes such as the Gite d’etape of Tagmoute.
We had an amazing 4 days of mountain biking in the Atlas Mountains followed by a 2 day hike to climb Toubkal. Rachid will take you to small villages where you will not see another tourist for days. This was the most authentic travel experience I have had. Rachid’s passion for his people and landscape is second to only how kind he is to you. The accommodation is simple in local homes, you get invited to drink tea in every village you ride through. Highly recommended if you want to experience true Berber culture.
Lovely lunch provided in the sunshine by a stream..taxi home all in time for sunset. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend a day.
